I support Carol for NEA Director because I know her to be strongly committed to promoting what is best for children. She cares about the Association and its work. She is a good listener, is articulate, a hard worker and a thoughtful decision maker. She will represent all Virginia educators well.
I can not imagine anyone more qualified than Carol Bauer for NEA director. She never ceases to amaze me with her energy and enthusiasm that she draws on to protect the rights of students and teachers. She is the voice of education.
I first met Carol Bauer when we served together on the VEA Board of Directors. She possesses a profound strength of character and an abiding sense of duty. Carol’s pleasant manner coupled with her calm demeanor creates the perfect combination for finessing difficult and complex issues, problems, and individuals. I grew to know her better and admire her all the more when she was appointed to a VEA committee which I chaired. What good fortune for me! In this capacity, I observed Carol’s skills firsthand. An enthusiastic and capable collaborator, a tireless advocate for students and public education, and an effective communicator, she has become a respected association colleague as well as a valued and trusted friend. I endorse Carol’s candidacy for the position of NEA Director without hesitation or reservation.
